The SHARK™ MDX12-60 and MDX13-60 are smart, bi-directional DC-DC chargers engineered to optimize power flow between your starter battery (12V) and your high-voltage trolling motor battery (24V or 36V) — making them a vital part of the INFINITE™ Series Marine Power System.
This user manual provides detailed guidance on setup, operation, protections, and system integration to ensure safe and efficient charging in both directions.
? Bi-Directional Charging Logic
Boost Mode:
When your engine alternator is active, SHARK™ uses the 12V starter battery to charge your 36V or 24V trolling battery.Buck Mode:
When the engine is off, power flows back from the trolling battery to recharge the starter battery and support 12VDC onboard loads.Fully automated and software-controlled, with sleep mode that periodically checks charging conditions every 2 minutes.

? Installation Best Practices
Ensure non-flammable mounting surface
Maintain 50mm clearance on all sides for passive heat dissipation
Match wire gauge and fuse rating to table specs
Never plug or unplug under load (sparks = damage!)
